Problem:
How do I deploy Adobe CS 2 volume licenses with LANrev?
Solution:
Adobe prepared their Macintosh and Windows CS 2 installers to be used with software distribution tools. Before installing, some preparation is required that is described in Adobe's Support Knowledgebase Document 331297.
For the Macintosh, the additional shell script 'LANrev_Install_CS_Suite.sh' is required (you can download it here). Copy it into the same folder as the 'Mac_suite_silent_install.sh' that is described in Adobe's Knowledgebase document. Make sure that the 'LANrev_Install_CS_Suite.sh' script has the Execute permission set. If your 'AdobeInstallerConfiguration.xml' file is named differently, you have to adjust line 5 of the 'LANrev_Install_CS_Suite.sh' file.
On Windows no additional scripts are needed.
When creating a LANrev package specification for Macintosh installations:
- Select the 'LANrev_Install_CS_Suite.sh' script as the executable.
- Make sure to check the 'Transfer all files in folder containing executable' option.
- The 'Installation user context:' in the 'Installation Options' need to be set to: root
- Check the 'Only install if a user is logged in' option in the 'Installation Options'
When creating a LANrev package specification for Windows installations:
- Select the 'Setup.exe' file as the executable.
- Make sure to check the 'Transfer all files in folder containing executable' option.
- In the executable command line options specify: -installerConfig "AdobeInstallerConfiguration.xml"
- If your XML file is named differently, replace "AdobeInstallerConfiguration.xml" with the name of your file.
