This document explains the behavior of all date-related filtering options for smart group definitions, including those for calendar dates. Support for calendar dates in smart group selection criteria was introduced in LANrev 4.6.1.
This will focus on the entire minute that is the specified number of units ago, e.g. "exactly 1 minutes ago" issued at 17:05:03 will focus on any event between 17:04:00 and 17:04:59 on the same day; "exactly 2 hours ago" issued at 17:05:03 will focus on any event between 15:05:00 and 15:05:59 on the same day. (To focus on the current hour/minute only, specify "0" as the number of minutes/hours)
Behaves the same as "Calendar Days". See (d).
This will focus on the entire day that is the specified number of units ago, e.g. "exactly 1 months ago" will focus on any event that occurred on the day that is 1 month in the past (when issued on Dec 12th, this will include events from Nov 12th).
This will focus on the entire day that is the specified number of days ago, e.g. "exactly 1 calendar days ago" will focus on any event that occurred yesterday. (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar day)
This will focus on the entire week that is the specified number of weeks ago, e.g. "exactly 1 calendar weeks ago" will focus on any event that occurred last week (i.e. not including any event that happened this week). (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar week)
This will focus on the entire month that is the specified number of months ago, e.g. "exactly 1 calendar months ago" will focus on any event that occurred last month (e.g. when issued on Dec 12th, this will focus on events from November). (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar month)
This will focus on the entire year that is the specified number of years ago, e.g. "exactly 1 calendar years ago" will focus on any event that occurred last year (e.g. when issued in 2007, this will focus on any event from 2006). (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar year)
This will focus on entire minutes in the range between the specified number of minutes/hours in the past and the last minute/hour, not including the current minute/hour; e.g. "in the last 2 minutes" issued at 17:34:17 will focus on any event that occurred between 17:32:00 and 17:33:59, "in the last 3 hours" issued on 17:34:17 will focus on any event that occurred between 14:34:00 and 17:34:59. (To focus on the current hour/minute only, specify "0" as the number of minutes/hours)
This will focus on the range starting at the specified numbers of days before the current day at the same hour, ending at the end of the current hour on the current day; e.g. "is in the last 2 days" issued on Dec 12th at 17:34:45 will include events that occurred between Dec 10th, 17:00:00 and Dec 12th 17:59:59.
This will focus on the range starting on 00:00:00 of the day that is the specified number of weeks/months/years in the past up to (and including) the current day; e.g. "is in the last 2 weeks" issued on Dec 12th at 17:34:45 will include events that occurred between Nov 28th 00:00:00 and Dec 12th 23:59:59.
This will focus on the range starting at the specified number of days before the current day at 00:00:00, ending yesterday 23:59:59; e.g. "is in the last 2 calendar days" issued on Dec 12th at 17:34:45 will include events that occurred between Dec 10th, 00:00:00 and Dec 11th 23:59:59. (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar day)
This will focus on the range starting at the first day of the week specified by number of weeks before the current day, ending at the end of last week; e.g. "is in the last 2 calendar weeks" issued on Thursday, Dec 12th 2007 will include events that occurred between Monday, Nov 26th, 00:00:00 and Sunday, Dec 9th 23:59:59. (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar week)
This will focus on the range starting at the first day of the month specified by number of months before the current day, ending at the end of last month; e.g. "is in the last 2 calendar months" issued on Thursday, Dec 12th 2007 will include events that occurred between Oct 1st, 00:00:00 and Nov 30th 23:59:59. (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar month)
This will focus on the range starting at the first day of the year specified by number of years before the current day, ending at the end of last year; e.g. "is in the last 2 calendar years" issued on Thursday, Dec 12th 2007 will include events that occurred between Jan 1st 2005, 00:00:00 and Dec 31st 2006 23:59:59. (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar year)
Like "is in the last", but focuses on the inverse range, i.e. any dates not falling in that range, with the exception that only dates that are older than the lower limit of the specified range are included (i.e. the current date and any future dates are never included): e.g. "is not in the last 3 [calendar] weeks" issued today will not include events from today or any future events, even though technically these events are not in the last 3 [calendar] weeks range.
This will focus on entire minutes in the range between the beginning of the next minute/hour and the specified number of minutes/hours in the future; e.g. "in the next 2 minutes" issued at 17:34:17 will focus on any event that occurred between 17:35:00 and 17:36:59, "in the next 3 hours" issued on 17:34:17 will focus on any event that occurs between 17:34:00 and 20:34:59. (To focus on the current hour/minute only, specify "0" as the number of minutes/hours)
This will focus on the range starting at the beginning of the current hour and ending at the end of the same hour the specified numbers of days after the current day; e.g. "is in the next 2 days" issued on Dec 12th at 17:34:45 will include events that occurred between Dec 12th, 17:00:00 and 14th Dec 17:59:59.
This will focus on the range starting on 00:00:00 of the current day and ending on 23:59:59 on the day that is the specified number of weeks/months/years in the future from the current day; e.g. "is in the next 2 weeks" issued on Dec 12th at 17:34:45 will include events that occur between Dec 12th 00:00:00 and Dec 26th 23:59:59.
This will focus on the range starting tomorrow at 00:00:00 and ending at the specified number of days after the current day at 23:59:59; e.g. "is in the next 2 calendar days" issued on Dec 12th at 17:34:45 will include events that occurred between Dec 13th, 00:00:00 and Dec 14th 23:59:59. (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar day)
This will focus on the range starting at the first day of next week and ending on the last day of the week specified by number of weeks after the current day; e.g. "is in the next 2 calendar weeks" issued on Thursday, Dec 12th 2007 will include events that occurred between Monday, Dec 17th, 00:00:00 and Sunday, Dec 30th 23:59:59. (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar week)
This will focus on the range starting at the first day of next month and ending on the last day of the month specified by number of months after the current day; e.g. "is in the next 2 calendar months" issued on Thursday, Dec 12th 2007 will include events that occur between Jan 1st 2008, 00:00:00 and Feb 29th 2008 23:59:59. (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar month)
This will focus on the range starting at the first day of next year and ending on the last day of the year specified by number of years after the current day; e.g. "is in the next 2 calendar years" issued on Thursday, Dec 12th 2007 will include events that occurred between Jan 1st 2008, 00:00:00 and Dec 31st 2009 23:59:59. (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar year)
Like "is in the last", but focuses on the inverse range, i.e. any dates not falling in that range

This will focus on the range between the larger number of days before the current day at the same hour, ending at the smaller number of days before the current day at the same hour; e.g. "is between 2 and 3 days ago" issued on Dec 12th at 17:34:45 will include events that occurred between Dec 9th, 17:00:00 and Dec 10th 17:59:59.
This will focus on the range starting on 00:00:00 of the day that is the specified by the larger number of weeks/months/years in the past up to (and including) the day specified by the smaller number of weeks/months/years in the past; e.g. "is between 2 and 3 weeks ago" issued on Dec 12th at 17:34:45 will include events that occurred between Nov 21st 00:00:00 and Dec 5th 23:59:59.
This will focus on the range starting at the larger number of days before the current day at 00:00:00, ending as the smaller number of days before the current day at 23:59:59; e.g. "is between 2 and 3 calendar days ago" issued on Dec 12th at 17:34:45 will include events that occurred between Dec 9th, 00:00:00 and Dec 10th 23:59:59. (Specify 0 as the unit value to focus on the current calendar day)
This will focus on the range starting at the first day of the week specified by the larger number of weeks before the current day, ending at the end of the week specified by the smaller number of weeks before the current day; e.g. "is between 2 and 3 calendar weeks ago" issued on Thursday, Dec 12th 2007 will include events that occurred between Monday, Nov 19th, 00:00:00 and Sunday, Dec 2nd 23:59:59.
