I am trying to use the Software Distribution Center to update all of my client agents to 5.2.3 from 5.2.1. A number of them have updated successfully, but it appears to either fail on other clients or seemingly not try at all. I have looked through the various topics on the forums related to this type of issue and have tried everything suggested, but still having no luck.
Here's my setup:
-Absolute Manage Server 5.2.3 running on a Windows 2003 server
-Staging Server (5.2.3 agent) running on separate Windows 2003 server
-Absolute Manage Agent (Windows) is assigned to the "All PCs" group with an availability date of 3/4/2010 3:09 PM, with no restrictions on when to install. Staging server is set to "Any".
-The All PCs group has my staging server assigned to it.
-Clients are all Windows XP Pro, SP3, firewall disabled.
-Some of the connections between the staging server and the clients are only 10 megabit WAN links. To minimize flooding these links, I've set the max concurrent downloads to 15.
Looking at the Installation Status, I see one installation in progress that seems to be "stuck" with a status of "Installation started" and has been showing this status for the past two hours. Under Successful Installations, I see a number of clients that updated successfully. Under failed installations, I see quite a few entries with a status of "Download failed" and a result error of "Download timed out on server." There are no deferred or refused installations.
I have tried selecting clients and running a software distribution check. I have tried the options to "Retry Package," "Reset Package," and "Repeat Selected Installations," but none of these seem to make a difference.
I've also tried deploying a small MSI in a similar fashion and I have the same issue -- some clients will install, others fails, while still others appear to do nothing.
What am I doing wrong? Help! |
