Error creating Package

I'm getting an error creating a package for an application... The application is NWEA's TestTaker app for MAP testing in schools. The install from NWEA is basically copying the TestTaker app into the Applications folder

I run InstallEase and do a system scan, then install (copy) the app to the Applications folder when told. Then perform another scan. I then see the following...

I remove the private folder by highlighting and clicking the delete button. It now looks like this...

I then continue and tell it i want an Apple Package and Uninstall Package and hit next. The Uninstall Package gets created first and it's fine... then after a while i get this error....

I'm not sure what this means or why i'm getting this error, but i would think that this should be one of the easiest packages to create since there's not much to it... Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Jeff

Jeff,

There a few possibilities to try.
1. You've hit a bug in PackageMaker. You can try upgrading to the latest version of Xcode/Developer Tools which will update PackageMaker. That will solve the majority of issues.
2. You can output to Iceberg format and build the PKG from there. Iceberg has a different PKG generation engine so if it's a bug in PackageMaker Iceberg shouldn't have a problem building the PKG.
3. There might be a permissions issue. Output to DMG format instead of PKG if you are deploying the package with LANrev.
4. It could be a bug in older versions of InstallEase. Please update to the latest version of InstallEase 1.3.2 if you're not already running that version.

BTW, in cases where you know the files are located, there's no need to snapshot the system. Just pick the manual option and drag in items from the Finder.
